I have a weakness, cute guys…especially cute guys who sing and play an instrument. Matt White is definitely cute, but more than that, he can write, sing and play beautifully.

Matt White – “I’ll Be There”

This is Matt’s full length debut. He was discovered after a fan sent one of his songs to the A & R people at Geffen or that’s the story going around. Matt built a following on Myspace and recorded an EP last year (Bleeker Street Stories).

The other day, my editor put on the first track of Best Days…“Play”. My editor, his roommate and I tried to keep up with Matt’s falsetto. I like to say that Kam (the roommate) did a great job.

Matt reminds me of Jack Johnson… a cool-laid back vibe. He also has a great sense of humor with lines like “These New York girls are crazy, save me” from the song “New York Girls.”

Two songs that caught my ear where “Miracles” and “Wait For Love.” Matt writes so beautifully about love, waiting for love, the miracles of love.

When I heard this album, I got the feeling of déjà vu as I realized that I have heard these songs on different TV shows (One Tree Hill, Laguna Beach, The Hills and Men In Trees).

Matt urges his fans to listen to his music with the top down…I don’t have a car, so I listened to this album while sitting outside on a beautiful California summer day. I suggest you do the same.
