The 20-year old Fresno, CA-based emcee Fashawn has just released his anticipated new mixtape, The Antidote, compiled and produced by the The Alchemist. In addition, Fashawn will be supporting Ghostface Killah on a coveted spot on his upcoming national Wizards of Poetry tour, beginning October 2nd in Albany, NY and extending through November 14th in Portland, ME.
Fashawn has proven himself to be a hip-hop virtuoso – influenced heavily by the classic early 90’s golden era of Hip-Hop he grew up with. Since beginning his rap career at the age of 12 and releasing his first mixtape at the age of 15, Fashawn has released 6 mixtapes, in the process collaborating with Talib Kweli, J. Cole, DJ Muggs, and Dilated Peoples.
His upcoming debut album Boy Meets World was produced entirely by Exile, a West Coast fixture and veteran in his own right (Mobb Deep, Ghostface Killah, Jurassic 5). Already recognized as one of the most promising MCs of his generation, Fashawn’s debut album exhibits the real story of a kid growing up – in his own words, “”It’s my story, it’s very honest, it’s very in depth.
