The Continuum finds, "Something to Burn"

“Something to burn” is a refreshing dose of something different. They bring the rock, but there is much more to it than that. There are unusual artistic elements and complexities within their music that appeal to both the brain and heart. Their new album is called, “Transitions” and was recorded on Scott Weiland’s record label. The band has worked with him extensively and will be opening for him on an upcoming tour. In speaking to vocalist Greg Wayne, I quickly gained perspective on what he is about and what the band is all about. As always, I tried to get underneath the obvious and see what makes it possible for Greg and the band to make the music they make.

The highlights of our conversation included:

  • Writing 15 songs in a month.

  • In depth talking about Softdrive records and their interactions and experiences with Scott Weiland.

  • Opening for Stone Temple Pilots.

  • Learning to sing.

  • Writing a dynamic new album and talking about the writing process.

  • Greg turning the tables on me and asking me what their new album is about.

  • The 2010 tour.

Greg came across as a rock star, but he was also very friendly and candid. I felt like he has a genuine interest in his fans and a true love for his music.
